At a meeting on 10th May 1976, it was agreed to found a Lodge to be known as the High Barnet Masters' Lodge, to serve as a focal point for the Hertfordshire lodges which traditionally met in the Barnet area. Masters and past masters of lodges residing in the area would also be welcome to join. This would enable a bridge of friendship to be formed between Hertfordshire, London and other Provinces. The lodge was consecrated on 31st March 1977.
