Old Manor Lodge No: 8339

Banners of Craft Lodges in Hertfordshire (Continued)

Some members of the Ellenbrook Lodge No. 8155 decided at an installation meeting to form a Lodge for working men to meet at approximately 17.30 hours on a Tuesday evening at Ashwell House. The lodge was consecrated on 18th September 1970, having been formed by a number of employees of the Hawker Siddeley Aircraft and Hawker Siddeley Dynamics Group, in Hatfield, Hertfordshire.

The name Old Manor was derived from Astwick Manor which was a building on the estate and is the house depicted on the banner, which was used as a training establishment.

The unusual pattern around the banner emblem is similar to that used by the sponsoring lodge Ellenbrook No: 8155. The banner was dedicated on 17th November 1987.
